Since it has taken me much longer than it should have to share this recipe with you, I will just get started so that you can make them yourselves. I just have one request. When you share this recipe, please be sure to give the credit back to me (Becky Maxwell, 50's Housewife). When a woman wins with a kitchen experiment, it becomes something very precious to her, as is the case here.
Cook the pork chops on a medium low heat in a large skillet (with lid) until done. Move pork chops to a plate while you use the pan for the gravy.
|
In the large skillet, combine the remaining ingredients. Mix well and bring to a nice simmer, being sure to scrape the remnants off of the bottom from the pork chops cooking. |
Add the pork chops into the skillet, burying them in the gravy, place lid on top, and cook on a low setting for 15-20 minutes.

You are now ready to enjoy the most amazing smothered pork chops you will ever place in your mouth!! Okay, most amazing pork chops period. These ones just happened to be smothered.
I like to change the second vegetable out with the meal, but you will always find mashed potatoes and biscuits. Mashed potatoes are for the extra gravy in the pan and biscuits are for wiping up the extra gravy on your plate after you finish everything else. You can do salad, green beans, corn, carrots, asparagus, whatever veggie your heart desires with this meal. It's pretty adaptable.
***If you make these pork chops, please leave a comment about how they went over with your family/friends. Also, feel free to share the link with everyone you know!! Please leave a comment if you make any adaptations as well, as I'm always up for trying new things with current menu items.
I made this for supper tonight, it was amazing. My family loved it. I used Cream of mushroom soup because I didn't have any chicken.
ReplyDeleteIt has been added to our list of can make again and again. Thank you so much for sharing.
I have to admit, I have done it with Cream of Mushroom as well, but it's just not as good as the Cream of Chicken. Still yummy though! I'm glad that you have a new way to bless your family's stomachs :-)

ReplyDelete"Hey Becky well I did cook that recipe tonight! It was really great, the gravy recipe turned an ordinary meat and potatoes supper into something really delicious. I am not a huge pork person but it definitely gave them a nice flavour. I took a picture of my meal, haha so you will see it shortly, on my posts. Your recipe mentioned Creole or lemon herb as suggestions, I used a general purpose seasoning, the first ingredient garlic but it had other herbs as well, e.g. thyme. I did add a couple of dashes of liquid Realemon though, to the gravy. I also had about 1/3 cup of leftover onion gravy and so I threw that in, which probably made it a bit darker with dark bits in it. (as the photo shows). I will definitely be using that recipe again and again. I am often innovative and improvise when I am cooking, but I doubt I would have ever thought of adding cheese to the gravy recipe! When I was cleaning out the pan, the last few spoonfuls of the gravy went directly into my mouth ;)"
